Job Description

 

Responsibilities

 

• Conduct laboratory tests and analyses of samples using various molecular biology methodologies, including real-time PCR, panther, kingfisher, quant studio, biorad cfx etc
• Record and analyse data, and prepare reports and summaries of findings
• Perform instrument maintenance, quality control and troubleshooting procedures
• Assist with developing and validating new assays and protocols
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other laboratory staff to interpret test results and ensure proper patient care
• Adhere to laboratory safety and infection control policies and procedures
• Will report to Lab supervisor

 

Qualifications and experience

 

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology or related field
• Preferred: Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
• Experience with molecular biology techniques and instruments for at least a year
