Position: Assistant General Manager

Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 Per Year + Benefits + Relocation Assistance Provided
Position Overview:
The Assistant General Manager partners with the General Manager to lead all aspects of daily hotel operations, driving guest satisfaction, associate engagement, and financial performance. This role oversees front office, housekeeping, and guest services operations, steps in as manager-on-duty, and helps execute brand standards and property initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment and is ready to grow into a General Manager role.
Mandatory:
- Must Have Mariott Management Experience
- 2+ years of hotel management experience
- 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or department head role
- Front Office, Guest Services, Operations Manager experience
- Hotel PMS systems and basic P&L/budget management experience shown on resume
- TENURE IS IMPORTANT - 3 in 6 / 4 in 8-10 years MAX
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and guest services
- Serve as manager-on-duty, resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Monitor and drive guest satisfaction scores, online reputation, and brand standard compliance
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of hourly associates and supervisors
- Support budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cost-control efforts to meet financial goals
- Ensure proper execution of revenue management and rate strategies in partnership with the GM
- Conduct routine property walk-throughs to maintain cleanliness, safety, and brand quality standards
- Assist in developing and implementing property policies, procedures, and service culture initiatives
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and associate development to build a strong operations team
- Step in for the General Manager in their absence, maintaining continuity of leadership and decision making
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and local, state, and federal employment laws
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hotel management experience, ideally in a supervisory or department head role
- Prior Front Office, Guest Services, or Operations Manager experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to drive guest satisfaction and team performance
- Working knowledge of hotel PMS systems and basic P&L/budget management
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for manager-on-duty coverage
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
