Job Title: Software Engineer
Location: San Francisco, CA (On-Site, Monday–Friday)
Employment Type: Full-Time with benfits
Compensation: $200,000 Base Salary + Equity
About the Role:
Agentmail AI is seeking a Founding Software Engineer to help build the infrastructure layer for AI agents. As an early engineering hire, you will own products from 0→1, build scalable systems, and work directly with the founding team to shape both the product and engineering culture.

Founding or early-stage engineering experience preferred

Infrastructure, developer tooling, email, messaging, or authentication product experience

Side projects, entrepreneurial initiatives, fellowships, or competitive achievements demonstrating grit and curiosity
Requirements:

0–7 years of software engineering experience

Strong full-stack background with deep backend expertise

Strong TypeScript experience preferred

Experience at FAANG/top-tier tech companies or well-known VC-backed startups (Series A+)

Proven track record of building and shipping production systems at scale

Demonstrated ownership of products/features from 0→1

Strong knowledge of REST APIs, system design, distributed systems, server-side architecture, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling

Experience with email, messaging, authentication, or protocol-heavy systems strongly preferred
Nice to Have:

AI/LLM product experience

Agentic workflows

SMTP, IMAP, OAuth

Messaging infrastructure
Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field preferred.
